Project Highlights

The England Performance Team set WOO a challenging brief to re-define the Wembley Changing Rooms to create a competitive edge for the performance of the England teams. This was in addition to supporting Wembley Stadium’s vision of being the world’s greatest and most iconic stadium.

We developed an exceptional working relationship with WOO, which continued throughout the project. Through a series of collaborative workshops, we were impressed by WOO’s ability to create a design that responded to the requirements of our brief.

The space that has been provided has exceeded the challenge set by the England team, the coaches, the physio and medical staff and our support staff, and it has been delivered within a demanding timescale and budget.

WOO Architects Design Secures Green Light for Edgbaston Stadium Works

As a part of WOO’s ongoing role developing a masterplan vision with Warwickshire County Cricket Club, their designs have received planning approval for the first phase of an ambitious programme of upgrades.

The upgrades consist of rooftop canopies to create enhanced hospitality spaces, along with ground floor alterations.

The project is part of the club’s desire to transform the venue to encourage new levels of engagement between the stadium and the wider community.

The proposal also endorses Edgbaston Stadium’s ambition to be the most sustainable cricket venue in the UK. The rooftop canopies will repurpose and refurbish existing steel structure, whilst the design of the hospitality spaces incorporates sustainably sourced materials and living walls.

Setting a new standard for Edgbaston Stadium hospitality experience, the rooftop bar will utilise a softer palette of materials and well-designed lighting along with informal buffet spaces within relaxed and varied seating zones, creating a modern destination for south Birmingham.

Encouraging visibility and connectivity from the newly developed Edgbaston Square, the ground floor works will open up the stadium to provide visual links with cultural events being staged within the square and create a welcoming entrance to this international venue.
Collaboration is highly important to us and WOO demonstrates this consistently. It has led to extremely successful delivery of projects in the recent past and we are really excited to be working with WOO architects now as we press on with the latest phases of the Edgbaston stadium masterplan
