Beyond its UK base WOO has experience working in varied international markets from Australia to the Americas, as well as numerous locations in Europe, the Far and Middle East.

Our Heritage

WOO was created in 2014 by the team who lead the design of the London 2012 Olympics on behalf of the London Organising Committee for the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG). Our collective role with London 2012 started with the earliest bid work, through to the final design, delivery and staging of the games. Whilst our core work is rooted in sport architecture, we are also working on many other design challenges in the related fields of culture and leisure.

These include major masterplans, with clients in the Middle East to integrate sports and leisure facilities into wider development strategies, redevelopment works at Edgbaston Cricket Club, a new Theatre for The Soldier of Orange, Museum and Theme park conceptualisation and design, through to planning of 3 sites for an iconic UK Leisure company.

Our international sports event work includes the design of venues for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Tokyo and Paris as well as masterplanning for the Winter Olympic Games in Milano – Cortina.

Our Mission

WOO designs to inspire – fusing innovation with strategy and working collaboratively with clients to create buildings, spaces and experiences that are ‘super fit for purpose’ – not only amazing users but also working intuitively, sustainably, accessibly, commercially and financially.

Our Culture

WOO’s Mission to inspire is led by an active inquisitiveness – always with a focus on the pragmatic needs of our clients, we look to challenge ourselves to see every constraint as an opportunity – realising better buildings together.

At WOO we look to use and to celebrate our collective experiences – not just the moments of high culture or sporting excellence, but also the everyday.

Whatever the culture – buildings shape our cities. We make ours as remarkable, diverse and engaging as the activities they contain. We aspire to create sports and cultural buildings that speak to people of all backgrounds not only to enrich their lives, but also to support and actively inspire the programmes, activities and performances inside.

We partner with ambitious clients. Our best work manifests itself with the best clients. We seek to break down the barriers between client and consultant to work as one. Together we succeed.
