100-year Anniversary of the Opening of Wembley Stadium

Our team has been working hard behind the scenes to create cutting-edge facilities that will provide a world-class experience for players and staff alike. We are particularly proud of our work on the new dressing rooms, which are designed to meet the highest standards of comfort, functionality, and sustainability.

Our design team took inspiration from the rich history of Wembley Stadium, while also incorporating the latest in architectural and technological innovations. The result is a stunning space that reflects the prestige of the venue and provides everything that players need to perform at their best.

We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the legacy of Wembley Stadium on this milestone anniversary, and we look forward to working with the The Football Association to continue to shape the future of football in the UK and beyond.

We at wooarchitects Have Delivered a 3,500m Sq Contemporary Exhibition Building to House the BBC Earth Experience.

We at wooarchitects have delivered a 3,500m sq contemporary exhibition building to house the BBC Earth Experience, which opened on 30th March 2023 in Earl’s Court London.

Designed in conjunction with ES Global Ltd for Mooneye Productions and Live Nation Entertainment , the immersive exhibition allows visitors to encounter original BBC Earth footage at scale. It uses state-of-the-art digital screen technology, accompanied by bespoke narration from Sir David Attenborough.

Built within the space of six months, the demountable nature of the building encapsulates the ethos of the BBC Earth Experience.

Materials used to create the space will be reused and recycled at the end of the exhibition, and reassembled into a building for another purpose.

While the structure is fully transformable, it has a feeling of permanence and presence needed to welcome visitors for the duration of two years to the Earl’s Court area.

Located on a meanwhile-use site, on part of the Earls Court Development Corporation land, wooarchitects has designed a solution which reflects the messages portrayed within the experience.

The approach to the building is planted with native species which will also be repurposed at the end of the exhibition. Clad with timber, the facade and canopy have been architecturally fashioned to act as a place-marking billboard and wayfinding for the experience.

Project Architect Celia Richardson : “There’s a responsibility to all architects to consider the value of what they’re designing when compared to the long-term health of our planet. This irony, and the pressure, wasn’t lost on us. Designing a fully demountable building gave us licence to explore materials that both house highest grade technology, but also to think creatively about its end-of-life.”

Edgbaston Unveils New Skyline Roof-top Hospitality Facility

Skyline – situated at the height of the South Stand – will offer spectacular panoramic views of the pitch and Birmingham landscape, whilst delivering an unrivalled hospitality package.

The major refurbishment includes high-end hospitality and banqueting, private inclusive bar, reception areas, live music and DJ, plus superior seating in a partially-covered, contemporary roof-top setting.

Edgbaston is working on Skyline in partnership with Stadia by GL Events, Arcadis and wooarchitects, who devised concepts for areas at Wembley, Twickenham and the London Stadium.

Skyline is set for completion in the coming weeks with packages now on sale for a host of Major Match days in 2023, including the Men’s Ashes Test, Men’s IT20 against New Zealand and Vitality Blast Finals Day.

Chief Operating Officer Craig Flindall said the Skyline is set to be one of the most unique spaces in the world to enjoy a cricket match.

He added: “The Skyline will be a stunning viewing deck, offering an unrivalled spectator experience, that will be the envy of cricket enthusiasts around the world.

“It’s a contemporary, vibrant space that transforms the existing seating area to a stunning high-spec fit-out, offering a first-rate experience for spectators.

“The development is part of our wider Masterplan to further invest in our facilities at Edgbaston and create more multi-purpose, versatile spaces. The Skyline does that by giving us the opportunity to not only introduce a new hospitality facility but expand our conference and events capabilities to host more summer parties and outdoor events.

Craig Flindall, Chief Operating Officer

“The environment will be relaxed and informal, where there are not only exceptional pitch views but where the food is plentiful, and the atmosphere fun and lively.”
